In conversation with our client, it became clear that they needed a partner to deliver specific parts, pre-configured and provided with the correct accessories, sent to their final locations. This work requires a stock holding of hard-to-get equipment, a range of suitable accessories and the ability to test and pre config equipment- all of which was possible in our UK and European facilities. Due to our visibility on authorised remanufactured supply chains around the world, our ability to source this equipment outperformed the market for new and we’re seeing fantastic growth in this partnership.
Our client has a broad customer base with thousands of sites across the UK and Europe, each requiring a small number of 8 port switches, a pre-loaded configuration, and extra accessories.
As a Managed Service Provider, it is vital that our client can source the items they need in the timeframes required.
The solutions
We source, stock, and hold large quantities of the 3-4 different switches specified by our client for use at their customer sites across Europe. Along with the switches, we include specific items in the box that are required at specific customer sites; this includes power cables, ethernet cables and rackmounts, all of which ensure a fast, efficient, and smooth installation.
Prior to being sent to site, all items are tested and labelled by the Cistor team. During this process, the team load a configuration file allowing the unit to be unboxed and plugged into the network at the end customer site which means minimal set up is required. In many instances, this prevents the need for an engineer at each site, saving cost and logistics challenges.

Our client has a reliable, easy, and cost-effective way in which to get individual boxes shipped to any end customer site across Europe and the UK. Using both its UK and European hubs, Cistor can guarantee short lead times from sourcing to delivery to installation. We have shipped thousands of switches to our client over the last 5 years and our partnership continues to grow as we provide reliable service in a supply chain that has been struck with unprecedented challenges.

The internet has a physical footprint as it requires electricity to run the datacentres, the networking infrastructure and the devices we use to access it. This electricity produces a carbon footprint. Websites that are designed in an energy efficient manner produce less carbon. The more autoplay video, high res images and content on a site, the more energy it takes to show this content- meaning a greater carbon footprint for the page.
We were inspired to build a more energy efficient site through our friend Gerry McGovern and from learning about Wholegrain digital. We consciously designed and built our site to highlight this issue and as a result this site is cleaner than most websites and we’re focussed on continually improving this.
