Cistor - Part of the Circularity First Group

Cistor is part of the Circularity First Group. Anthony Levy, Founder of Cistor and Circularity First, explains the creation of the new Sustainable IT Group

Since 2008 we have supplied technology solutions that are more resilient, cost- effective and sustainable.  In that time, we’ve become the leading Circular Economy partner of Cisco and have worked with hundreds of customers.

The last two years have shown that non-new supply chains offer solutions to many of the biggest challenges faced by the IT industry and our planet. They protect finite resources, prevent CO2 emissions, reduce eWaste and provide commercial benefits including cost savings and shortening lead times. The recently launched IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change Report) provides a starker than ever warning that we cannot continue to consume our planet’s resources at the current rate if we have a chance at staying on a 1.5-degree trajectory.

Now is the time to create a more circular mindset for IT , by using technology for its maximum utility and with that in mind, I’m delighted to announce the launch of Circularity First.

Circularity First is the new name for our group of businesses that work across sustainable IT.  Forming the Group aligns us behind our vision ‘To be catalysts for the adoption of Sustainable IT on the global stage.’  Cistor is our enterprise business within this group and it continues to do business in its current form by enabling customers to utilise both authorised remanufactured and new technology in their business.

Circularity First provides advisory services for organisations that want to change the way they use IT for the benefit of people, planet and profit, with solutions and services provided by our portfolio of businesses, including Cistor.  We’re taking Sustainable IT mainstream, to drive significant change in how IT is procured, used and disposed of.

Over the next 12 months we’ll be sharing software tools that allow customers to understand the commercial and environmental benefits of non-new equipment and we’ll publish findings of our pioneering research partnerships.

Alongside this, we have made commitments of our own. Having successfully prevented over 845 tonnes of IT equipment from becoming landfill, we’re aiming for 1000 tonnes by the end of 2022. We’ll be carbon neutral in 2022 and plan to reduce our carbon emissions by 40% by 2025 - including a full review of our international logistics.

By working together to #ActOnIT we are ensuring that future generations can thrive on our planet. Please reach out with any questions or opportunities you’d like to discuss, we’re always keen to engage with your sustainability leads too.

We’re really excited by the next phase of our journey- it’s undeniably the most important one.

Anthony Levy, Founder, Cistor and Founder and Chairman of Circularity First.
