Globalgig is a global managed communications and technology provider offering connectivity, SD-WAN, network management, mobility, IoT and security solutions. Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, Globalgig has operated across Europe since 2015 and accelerated its growth strategy from 2022, acting as a single partner for complex, multi-country managed technology needs.
The challenge
As Globalgig grew its European SD-WAN strategy, enterprise customers began asking for Cisco-based solutions, including Meraki for event and temporary deployments. Globalgig evaluated platforms and partners before committing, seeking a European specialist to handle the full quote-to-delivery process across multiple markets.

- Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN - evaluated for SD-WAN across European markets. Not selected.
- Fortinet FortiGate Secure SD-WAN - evaluated for SD-WAN and security convergence. Not selected.
- Cisco, via Cistor - evaluated for the full Cisco portfolio including Cisco Refresh. Selected and deployed.
What we did
Cistor became Globalgig’s European Cisco partner, giving Globalgig a set of capabilities to extend to its own customers:
- Cisco-powered managed SD-WAN - enterprise SD-WAN across multiple European markets, backed by Cisco infrastructure and Globalgig’s managed service capability.
- Event and temporary networks - fast-turnaround Meraki and Cisco deployments for events, pop-ups, or temporary sites, delivered directly to end customer locations.
- Cisco Refresh: sustainable IT - Globalgig can now offer Cisco Refresh certified remanufactured hardware, a lower cost, lower carbon option most managed service providers cannot match.
- Multi-country delivery, one partner - a single partner for complex European deployments, with Cistor handling Cisco supply chain across 40+ countries.
The result
The first project was delivered successfully across multiple regions, with clear project visibility, reliable delivery timelines, and on-schedule service activation. Globalgig now has a proven European Cisco supply chain model and a strengthened customer proposition, including Cisco Refresh as a differentiator that most managed service providers cannot offer.
