For years the Catalyst 3850 has been a very popular workhorse switch in Cisco networks around the world.
As all models have now either gone or been announced EOS that time is now ending in favour of the Catalyst 9000 series switches.
For those looking to protect their existing investment or maintaining a product standard the Cisco Refresh program will support supply of authorised equipment for the next 5 years and massively reduce the lead of the units still available in new from 105 days to potentially 2-3 weeks.
The 3850 still supplies converged wired and wireless access and aggregation features suitable for many business’s needs.

The component shortage has hit the availability of the ISR4K hard.
Cisco 4000 series integrated service routers are widely deployed and continue to add advanced features such as the ThousandEyes integration.
Using the Cisco refresh Cistor can drastically decrease the new lead time on these units that is now exceeding 120 days on some models.

The last ASA55 parts are going end of sale in August this year which means the only way to source authorised hardware will be through the Cisco refresh channel.
For those looking to migrate to Firepower appliances there has been an increase in lead times due to chip shortages.
Refresh currently has availability in the FPR2100 ranges for those looking to decrease their lead time from 91 days to 12.

This week presented another great example of Cistor using Cisco refresh to solve a customer’s issue.
The customer had an urgent issue due to their ASR1001-X supply being disrupted chip shortages.
The product normally on a 28 day lead time was now at 98 days.
Using our experience of the Cisco refresh channel and our agility as a small business we were able to get devices onsite within 12 days of first contact with the customer.
This has allowed the service provider to install on time and avoid any customer satisfaction issues.
